About Me

Hi, I’m Nikos. I like systems that stay predictable: infrastructure you can rebuild, services that are locked down by default, and tools that turn a scary manual job into a button with a log behind it.

I started in customer support and site administration, grew into full-stack web development, and today work as a DevSecOps Engineer. Day to day that means Microsoft Azure and Entra ID, Azure DevOps pipelines, self-hosted security infrastructure, ISO 27001 and GDPR work, and a lot of PowerShell and Bash.

I still write a lot of code, mostly the tools I wish existed: migration pipelines, deliverability dashboards, infrastructure graphs, VPN clients and server studios.

What I work on

  • Cloud and identity: Azure (DNS, App Services, CDN, Web Apps, SQL), Microsoft Entra ID, and an ongoing on-prem SQL Server to Azure SQL migration.
  • Security and compliance: self-hosted Vaultwarden, Snipe-IT and WireGuard, ISO 27001 controls, GDPR, application-level security audits, and SSL/TLS operations.
  • DevOps and automation: Azure DevOps and GitLab CI, PowerShell and Bash automation, Docker, and Terraform, which I’m currently learning on real internal infrastructure.
  • Development: TypeScript, Angular, React, Next.js, Python, Rust with Tauri, PHP, C# and T-SQL.

  • Nebula: my cloud infrastructure as a living 2D/3D graph, across Azure, AWS, GitHub, GitLab and Azure DevOps.
  • DB Orchestrator: a resumable state machine that migrates tenant databases from SQL Server to Azure SQL.
  • Umbra: a privacy-first Windows VPN client with a real WFP kill switch.
  • Homelab: a Proxmox VE node running my self-hosted services behind a TLS reverse proxy, with a custom updater that patches every container.
  • Mako: a deterministic tokenomics engine with an AI copilot that never makes up a number.

How I work

I mentor as part of delivery: short hands-on sessions and practical takeaways. Over the years I’ve mentored 20+ interns and look after their onboarding and offboarding. I write things down, too: more than 15 operations wiki entries and a Knowledge Base redesign.

I ship in small, low-risk steps, measure the result, and leave the system easier to run than I found it.
