Nereid

Role: Angular Web Developer · September 2023 – May 2024

Nereid connects boaters with marinas. You search by arrival and departure dates, location and boat dimensions, then book a berth. I joined the team to take the web platform to mobile and make it faster and easier to find.

What I did

• Mobile app: built the iOS and Android versions of the platform with Angular and Capacitor. That meant wrapping the existing web app in native shells and making screens work well on touch devices, with better accessibility for mobile users.
• CSS refactor: restructured the stylesheets and removed dead styles. The CSS got much smaller and Lighthouse coverage improved, so the frontend is easier to maintain.
• New features: built new Angular pages and UI components from Figma designs, following the existing PrimeNG-based component library.
• Search visibility: started the Google indexing strategy and set up the CDN, which improved time-to-first-byte, indexing coverage and SEO visibility.

Stack

Angular with TypeScript, PrimeNG and Tailwind CSS on the web. Capacitor for the native apps. Cloudflare in front for CDN and caching.
